UK-based equipment compliance management solutions provider RiConnect has appointed Gold Procurement as its agent in Angola, Central Africa.
Gold Procurement, an established maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplier, provides a comprehensive SaaS solution to its clients.
The company has been operating in the oil and gas industry for a decade, and has built strong relations with original equipment manufacturers worldwide.
Its 1,200ft2 warehouse in Quifica, south of Luanda City, is used for packing and storage, with additional outdoor space for stockpiling and lifting equipment up to two-tonne capacity.
The partnership aims to enhance compliance and traceability within the region’s oil and gas sector, leveraging RiConnect’s digitalisation strategies.
RiConnect’s compliance management system will address the complex compliance issues in the energy sector, which arise from the diverse range of equipment and applications.
The system supports organisations in the oil and gas, offshore, and other industries with regulatory requirements.
The requirements include daily pre-use checks, periodic inspections, regular maintenance, and calibration, featuring a user-friendly offline function.
RiConnect sales manager Rob Whitehurst-Maiden said: “Gold Procurement is the latest in an ever-growing group of regional partners that are delivering our SaaS solutions to the point of use.
“We have welcomed their adoption of our CTSN concept; they have become established cornerstones, as we simplify and digitalise the processes around compliance and traceability for equipment management.”
SupraNano NFC RFID chips, which can be pressure-fitted into steel or retrofitted to products, are integral to RiConnect’s offerings.
The chips undergo rigorous testing for temperature extremes, water ingress, and other environmental factors, ensuring their suitability for extreme conditions.
Tests include MIL-STD 810H, IP68 waterproof rating, IK10 impact testing, ATEX explosion-proof testing, and CRES corrosion resistance.
Gold Procurement business development manager Andre Pedro said: “As a new distributor for RiConnect, our clients have the opportunity to interlock their catalogue and non-catalogue items with RFID chips.
“By moving to paperless systems, we can improve the accuracy of maintenance, safety checks, incident reports, and regulatory compliance, while supporting seamless information sharing.”
“We know that asset and stock management are moving to digital, and we are glad to be a step ahead of our competitors.”
Earlier this year, RiConnect appointed Holloway Houston as its distributor for the Americas, expanding its cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) offering in the Americas.
