REID Lifting Holdings has acquired REID Lifting France, a provider of lifting equipment in France, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition is the first since REID Lifting’s recapitalisation earlier this year, a process advised by The Smithfield Group and supported by financial backing from Santander UK.
Established in 1996, REID Lifting is known for its lightweight, portable lifting and access solutions, including engineered gantries and davits.
The company caters to diverse sectors such as water and wastewater, utilities, construction, and industrial safety, ensuring compliance with international safety standards.
Based in Chepstow, Wales, REID Lifting has subsidiaries in the US and now France, with a broad international market reach.
Founded in 1999 by Karena Buckingham, REID Lifting’s French unit has significantly contributed to expanding the market for REID’s products within France and other key export regions.
Known for its technical expertise and quality service, REID Lifting France has become the largest customer and distributor for REID Lifting.
Following the acquisition, the REID Lifting Group will employ approximately 80 people and will continue under the leadership of the group managing director Simon Luke.
Luke added: “We’re incredibly pleased by the confidence shown in REID by our investors and Santander, particularly in supporting the acquisition of RLF.
“This brings together a highly experienced team, strengthens our European footprint, and enables us to better coordinate international brand-building efforts.
“Our continued partnership with Smithfield, coupled with this recapitalisation, gives us the momentum to invest further in our people, product innovation, and continue expanding in high-growth markets like the US.
“Throughout this next phase, our focus remains on delivering world-class lifting solutions that enhance safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction globally.”
