Morris will continue to provide round-the-clock service and maintenance provision of Bombardier’s crane, hoist and lifting equipment at its rail manufacturing facility and refurbishment centre in Derby. Morris will also continue to ensure that Bombardier meets its commitments under LOLER98 regulations under the inspection agreement, across the 330,000 sq m site.
Bombardier services engineer Graham Moody said: “We continue to enjoy an excellent working relationship with Morris Material Handling. They are a very efficient and reliable service provider who continue to provide us with exceptionally high levels of round-the-clock service support.”
Coordinated from the regional service centre in Loughborough, the preventative maintenance and inspection contract involves an annual inspection, biannual inspection and the planned maintenance of an asset database that takes in 55 on-site cranes. It covers both overhead and goliath cranes, as well as other lifting equipment, hoist chain blocks, Genie lifts, carriage lifting jacks, swing jibs, and all associated loose lifting and all below-the-hook equipment.
