Magtrol has launched a load conditioner that is easier to configure than its two existing products, the two-relay LMU 112 and four-relay LMU 116. (The new model, the MVD 100, has three relays.) Like the other two products, the MVD 100 works with a single load cell. Unlike the others, it can be configured using a signal strength from the load cell that is only a fraction of the desired overload setting. The device’s computer then scales up the setting. If for example the device is being configured for an overload alarm on a 200t crane, only a 20t load is required to set the overload at 200t.
Configuration is done with three push-buttons on an onboard panel. Outputs can be optional 1-3V/ 0-10V or 4-20mA as well as serial RS 232. Power supply is standard 115 VAC/230 VAC or optional 12/24 VDC or 48 VAC.
The MVD 100 board is mounted in a IP 65 aluminium frame suited for harsh environments.
