Lifting Gear Hire (LGH), a major player in the lifting and moving equipment rental sector, has entered the Australian market, establishing its headquarters in Somersby, Central Coast, New South Wales.
The Australian branch will supply a comprehensive range of rental equipment, including hoists, clamps, hydraulic rams, rigging gear like slings and modular spreader beams, and general material handling tools.
Initially, LGH will concentrate on servicing the New South Wales region, with plans to make its fleet accessible across the nation.
LGH, which operates extensively in Europe and North America, targets industries requiring heavy load movement. The Australian expansion aligns with the market’s comparable scale in sectors such as construction, infrastructure, mining, energy, petrochemical, marine, and offshore.
Despite the existing familiarity with equipment rental in Australia, LGH’s team of eight is committed to upholding the company’s tradition of offering expert technical knowledge, superior customer service, and high-grade equipment to contractors.
The company maintains collaborations with long-term supply partners, including local manufacturers SpanSet and Durapac, as well as international suppliers such as Tiger Lifting, JD Neuhaus, and Modulift.
Since its inception in 1970, LGH has expanded into a multinational corporation with significant operations in the UK, North America, and Europe.
The company focuses on delivering safe and reliable equipment, ensuring customer satisfaction through dependable service and expertise.
Lifting Gear Hire chairman Ian Parkinson said: “Our expansion into Australia is the biggest step the business has taken since expanding outside of the UK to open our first rental hub in Chicago, USA in 1990. LGH has always been focused on growth and expansion, this has been an important component for our current and future success.
“The international territories we operate in are places of strong industrial activity where there is a highly-regulated approach to health and safety, so Australia has naturally been a target for future operations.
“Not only is the economy growing, but investment in the country’s infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, and defence sectors continues to be robust, so we believe that we can play our part in helping these dynamic sectors to thrive.”
Ian added: “Also, the lifting gear market is well-developed throughout the country, and our aim is to forge rock-solid relationships with the trade as firms look to broaden their re-rental options.
“We would have loved to come to Australia sooner, but we knew the timing and the level of investment had to be right. From our 55 years of experience in very competitive North American and European markets, LGH now brings skills, experience and the highest-quality equipment and service to Australia.”
