The contract is for two x 250t SMD cranes working at 33m span for the turbine hall and a variety of smaller crane models. The 250t SMD cranes will be fitted with Konecranes DynA Invertor variable speed control on all motions with the added feature of ESR (Extended Speed Range) on the main hoists and Konecranes Remox radio controls with back up pendants.

All hoists feature ControlPro Monitors where the unit monitors each hoist operation, providing overload detection, brake wear monitoring and calculates the crane hoist duty allowing 100 per cent planning of maintenance activities to suit the actual crane duty, the company added. The unit also stores and records the number of cycles, overload attempts and temperature trips.

The remainder of the order is for three CXT cranes, one CXTS, one CXTSU and a CXTD. The 3 CXTs will operate at 9.25mt span, the CXTSU on 4.8mt span and the 10t CXTD on 14.95mt span. All will feature DynADrive inverter variable speed control on cross and long travel motions and dual speed hoists. The cranes also have festooned cross travel conductors, ControlPro condition monitors on each hoist, Konecranes Remox radio control and back up pendants and they are all equipped with limit switches on each motion.
