The steam turbine building on site already has several Konecranes UK units at work – the biggest being a 160t capacity model, which was also contracted by Siemens.

The Al Taweelah order is for two 130t cranes (both have 25t auxiliary hoists and one also has a 12.5t outreach hoist running under the crane girders), three 2t, one 12.5t, one 5t CXT cranes and two 2.5t jib cranes also fitted with CXT hoists.

The 130t cranes, will have Remox radio remote control with pendant back up and will be fitted along with Konecranes components including Konecranes DynA Inverter variable speed control on all motions, girder and trolley platforms, ControlPro condition monitoring on each hoist, festoon cross cabling, floodlights, ultimate hoist limit switches and motion limit switches on all crane motions.

Each CXT crane has Konecranes DynADrive inverter variable speed control on the cross and long travel motions, Remox radio remote control with pendant back-up, two speed hoists, ControLPro condition monitoring, festoon cross crane cables, cross and long travel limit switches, ultimate hoist limit switches and hoist and lower limit switches.

The jib cranes work at 4m radius and will be mounted on top of two buildings and the will have DynaDrive variable speed on slew and traverse drive, remote pendant, stainless steel panels and festoon tracks, ControLPro condition monitoring, hoist weather covers, and 350 degree slew.
