The crane, with a 28.25m span, will work alongside a 140t Goliath crane which is currently being upgraded.
The new Goliath will be fitted with DynA inverter drives on all motions and ControlPro condition monitoring, platforms and festoon cables. There will be parking shelters for the hoist and a weather enclosure Electrical Contactor House, “which will considerably reduce the downtime of the crane in inclement weather,” Konecranes said.
The new crane, worth around £600,000, will be delivered by March 1 2008.
