Åkman, 48, MSc. (Eng), will report to Pierre Boyer, president, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Åkman will take up his new post on February 1 2007.
Åkman has had a long career in industrial services and is currently deputy business unit manager, process automation service at ABB China. Prior to that position in China he was president and CEO for Done Solutions in Finland. Åkman has also held various management positions within ABB Group, Fortek Oy, Huber Oy and Strömberg.
