Jiangyin Kito Crane Co. Ltd is to supply cranes and hoists in bulk for the construction of seven nuclear power plant sites in China, worth around JPY 2bn (USD 21.8m) to the company.

Its products will be used in the installation and maintenance of the plants, which are being constructed by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Company in Yangjian, Guangdong Province; Ningde, Fujian Province; and Hongyanhe, Liaoning Province.

Parent organisation Kito Group said it expects more business opportunities to arise through the development of China’s installed nuclear power plant capacity, with the country planning to invest around JPY 6.75trn (USD 73.6bn) in the area by 2020.

“Kito considers participation in the such large-scale national projects to provide the company with a substantial foothold to expand,” it said.
