Ketten Wälder has launched two new cromox-branded stainless steel turnbuckles, each with a 1.55-tonne capacity, specifically designed for cleanrooms and hazardous environments.
The turnbuckles, part of the cromox range, provide precise alignment even under full load, catering to sectors requiring micro-alignment of modules and loads.
Established in 1948, Ketten Wälder launched the cromox brand approximately 17 years ago.
The range includes chains, chain slings, load hooks, shackles, chain hoists, and hoist trolleys.
The new turnbuckles, available with 20mm or 100mm adjustments, were developed in response to demand from cleanrooms and corrosive environments.
The turnbuckles are designed to be mounted in chain sling legs, enhancing the company’s CVE series shortening clutch, and improving precision to 5/100th millimetres.
They operate by inserting aircraft locking pins into torsion holes, allowing for micro-adjustments of chain leg length under load.
The application is frequently used in cleanrooms, where smaller loads of varying shapes and weights are handled, particularly in the electronics, pharmaceutical, and medical industries.
Ketten Wälder chief technical director Roman Auer said: “Including this new product in our latest catalogue, and presenting it to market, represents completion of a journey that started in 2023.
“The turnbuckles can be used with a number of different connections. By mid-year, we anticipate global stocking close to the point of use, but partners are already placing orders.
The cromox turnbuckles feature food-grade grease, a sealed adjustment unit, and high corrosion resistance due to AISI 318LN Duplex material.
Made from Grade 60 steel, the turnbuckles ensure safe and efficient use in demanding environments.
They are user-friendly and maintenance-free, with a slim design facilitated by removable ball locking pins.
To support the launch, Ketten Wälder will increase turnbuckle stock across warehouses in Germany, the UK, and the US, while also shipping directly from its headquarters.
Roman Auer added: “The catalogue has been received very well; we get extremely positive feedback about equipment design and new products.
“The catalogue is based on the cornerstones of a business that has been family-owned for generations.
“The cromox range is innovative and durable, suited to use even in nautical environments. We specialise in customer-oriented solutions for challenging industries.”
