Kahn Steel Co. has bought a new facility on the Kansas City Southern Railway, which includes an overhead crane, according to reports on yourmetalnews.com.
The report said Kahn bought the 50,000sq ft building and an additional 7.5 acres at 1710 Southern Road in Kansas City’s Executive Park for an undisclosed amount.
It added: “Jackson County tax records show a 2008 market value of nearly $1million for the property.  However, the records also show that it was sold for $1.9m in 2005, when the county listed its market value as $941,850.”
Kahn Steel plans to start operations at the facility on October 1.
