International crane control professional Michael Urbassik has joined The Electrical Controller and Manufacturing Company, LLC (EC&M) as advanced technology engineer.
Urbassik has more than 33 years of application experience in electromechanical and solid-state crane technology and is the holder of two patents.
He will be involved in consulting, customer training and the deployment of EC&M’s electromechanical crane components and products. He will also assume a leadership role in applying the other advanced technology products sold by EC&M.
A published, international authority on DC contactor and solid state technology applications for steel mill overhead cranes, Urbassik is also a regular presenter at Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) crane symposiums and past vice chair of the AIST Crane Operating Committee. He plans to continue to remain active with the AIST COC.
Urbassik was formerly with Eaton Electrical (Cutler-Hammer) of Cleveland, Ohio.
