The FEM 1Bm duty hoist has 25t capacity on two falls of rope with lifting speeds of 3.2m/min and .8m/min. With single-fall reeving, maximum capacity is cut in half but lifting speeds are doubled. It can be mounted as stationary or hung on a special beam in between two 12.5t capacity travel drives.
It departs from the Star Liftket shoebox-type shape because it needs extra space for gears, and does not need much space for electronics, according to general manager Mattias Huehn.
He also said that the 12.5t capacity Liftket chain hoist, which has been sold for five years, would be redesigned in 2006 to take its place in the Star Liftket range.
