The company stated the reason behind building the new USD 1.1M facility was due to its manufacturing plant in Destrehan being unable to cope with the continued growth in demand. The new facility will allow the company to construct all types of overhead cranes and will provide approximately 50 new jobs.

"Prior to this crane manufacturing plant being put into service all large cranes being used in Louisiana had been manufactured out of state," said Mac Hadden, president, Standard Crane president. "There were none made here, this is no longer the case."
