Dutch company Engine Assist has completed the installation of two 2t overhead cranes as part of a major workshop renovation project following its integration with PB Asher and MD Trade & Spares.
The new equipment increases the workshop’s lifting capacity and enhances the efficiency of handling engine components.
These changes form part of ongoing investments aimed at expanding engineering services and workshop operations.
In April, Engine Assist joined forces with PB Asher and MD Trade & Spares, a move which has provided access to a broader pool of engineers and extended workshop capabilities.
PB Asher, which operates from Southampton Docks in the UK and has facilities in Rotterdam, specialises in the reconditioning, supply, and exchange of marine, commercial, and industrial engine components.
The company maintains a substantial 14,000ft² facility and handles a range of equipment, including cylinder heads, liners, pistons, connecting rods, fuel pumps and injectors, nozzles, slide fuel valves, common rail systems, and hydraulic starting apparatus.
Engine Assist’s integration with PB Asher and MD Trade & Spares has led to strengthened links between workshop capacity, field engineering support, and specialist parts supply across the group.
MD Trade has taken a stake in both PB Asher and Engine Assist, reinforcing collaboration between parts expertise and engineering services.
This arrangement is intended to strengthen coordination among team members, speed up response times at ports and shipyards, and provide improved technical support for complex projects.
Engine Assist and PB Asher continue to operate from Rotterdam, supporting vessel operators across one of the busiest international ports.
