The 12t furnace required careful handling as its internal parts had to remain in place during the move, while it also had to be transported on its side. The use of the SL200 gantry allowed the furnace to be lifted and turned in a single controlled movement, lowered onto the transport chassis, and then lifted and loaded onto a transporter.

Height and space constraints prevented the use of a mobile crane.

"In addition to the ease of deploying the Enerpac SL200 in the cramped conditions of a busy factory, the low dead weight of the gantry is a significant advantage – as in this project, we are able to transport it quickly to and between customer sites, making our lifting services very competitive," says Josef Bureš, CEO of Europe Automotive Holding.

The Enerpac SL200 is designed for lifting applications up to 2,000kN. Each leg of the 2,200kg gantry has a retracted height of 2,730 mm and an extended height of 6,700mm. The SL200 gantry comes standard with Enerpac Intellilift wireless controls. In addition, each leg of the gantry has self-contained hydraulics, which eliminates trip hazards by removing the need to connect hoses and simplifies equipment set-up.

Enerpac is a global business specialising in high-pressure hydraulic tools, controlled force products, portable machining, on-site services and solutions for precise positioning of heavy loads.
