The two evo10c hooks, fitted with the company’s power magnet, rigid safety latch and heat shield features, were used to ensure that the lifting and transportation process was completed successfully.
The power magnet and rigid safety latch helped to ease the approach and positioning on the electrodes’ lifting point, explained Elebia, while the heat shield protected the hook and its electronic components from the radiated heat and extended the temperature working range.
The safety hooks were also equipped with a position encoder, which informed the operator of the hook’s position throughout the process. A load cell provided and additional safety measure by monitoring the weight being lifted during the process. An evo1700T battery with higher working temperature range—up to 80 deg C—was also used.
