The ownership of UK lifting solutions business Durham Lifting has changed hands, with Amanda and Paul Gardiner taking full control of the company as Frank Pickersgill, who founded the company in 1996 and is now in his 70s, steps aside.

The 100% acquisition marks a generational shift in leadership as managing director Amanda Gardiner is also Pickersgill’s daughter.

"Taking full ownership of Durham Lifting is a proud moment for us, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. We're ready to lead Durham Lifting into a future filled with innovation, growth and continued success,” she said.

Director Paul Gardiner also shared his enthusiasm for the new chapter: “With a bright future ahead, we are dedicated to building a team with the technical ability to support the growth of the lifting equipment industry to meet future challenges.”

The company has plans for further growth and investment, including further development of the Multisec lifting equipment range, providing successful engineered projects to support the offshore wind, oil and gas, rail and construction industries, and further investment in testing capabilities.

Reflecting the company’s journey to date, Amanda Gardiner said: "Our story is proof that with the right vision and dedication, any goal is attainable. We hope to inspire not just our team but the entire industry."
