Columbus McKinnon will show an example from its improved and modified Lodestar Electric Chain Hoist range at ProMat. The Lodestar series has a lifting capacity ranging from 1/8t3t. Lift height ranges from 10ft-20ft, while the lifting speed ranges from 1.5-32fpm.This is the ‘next generation’ of Columbus McKinnon’s Lodestar Electric Chain Hoists.  The new version features quieter operation and easier access to components, higher duty cycles, less maintenance and enhanced brake features, while retaining the Nema 4X control station and three speed Infinitely Variable Speed Control.In addition to the models on offer in the catalogue, the company can create custom hoists.  It has modified hoists for applications requiring long lifts, varied hook/trolley arrangements and included variable frequency drives for precise positioning.A range of electrification options is available through Columbus McKinnon’s distributor network, allowing modifications such as basic festoon systems, conductor bars, cable and cable reels.Materials-handling training in hoist use is offered through Columbus McKinnon’s own organisation, which can be arranged onsite or in seminars held at venues throughout North America.As an added attraction, Columbus McKinnon will be holding an “Ask the Experts” contest at its ProMat booth #1838.  Fill out a form and respond to a material handling challenge for your chance to win one of a number of prizes.
