His predecessor, Adrian Kirkham, passed away in October last year.
Hoggard entered the industry in 2004 after leaving the Armed Forces as a crane operator, and later became a qualified trainer and tester for Ainscough Training Services.
Hoggard previously owned a freelance consultancy and training organisation offering courses in lifting, crane operations, and health and safety. He has worked in Uganda and Qatar.
Registered as a tester and trainer with both the Construction Plant Competency Scheme (CPCS) and the CITB (Construction Industry training Board), Hoggard is additionally a qualified NVQ Assessor.
He is also registered as a health and safety assessor and surveyor with NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Health and Safety).
Hoggard will add new courses to Certex’s training portfolio, such as mobile crane training and testing, slinger signaller training and testing. In addition, he will add forklift truck training and testing, and appointed person training and testing, courses.
National Product Sales Manager, Pat Carnall, said: ‘Everyone at Certex was devastated to lose Adrian, but with dozens of specialised training courses booked in for 2012, we had to seek a replacement. We are delighted to welcome Mark on board.
“His industry experience has given us the opportunity to extend our training portfolio further still and I am confident that his additional areas of expertise will prove invaluable to many of our customers,’ said Carnall.
Certex UK offers bespoke training for the manufacturing, construction, ports, defence and offshore industries. Courses are held at its training centres in Harworth, Aberdeen, and Erith (London), as well as on location with the client.
Courses combine practical teaching with theory, while paying close attention to relevant legal requirements at all times.
‘I am very proud to have joined Certex,’ said Mark. ‘The company has an outstanding reputation for delivering relevant and up to date training and I look forward to contributing to this.’
