A specially designed lifting gantry has helped Nissan Motorsport UK in its entry for the world-famous 24 hour motor race at Le Mans, France. The Certex gantry allows the team to quickly change the car’s undertray during testing, a process previously carried out using lifting jacks. Weighing 950kg, the cars are lifted up to 1m off the ground to give unrestricted access underneath. The time saved can be used to try out different setups and other development work.

Certex has recently expanded its range of products to include electrical wire rope hoists and slings in a bid to establish itself as a supplier catering for all lifting requirements. The company is part of the FKI group which includes rope manufacturer Bridon, lifting gear manufacturer Crosby and chain maker Parsons. There are 140 Certex branches and 1,500 employees in 25 different countries around the world.
