Sutherland worked for Tiger Lifting for four years and started the new role end of last year. He will be supporting all distribution sales for the company in these two markets, driving relationships forward with a particular focus on the food industry.

“J.D. Neuhaus Group is renowned in the industry for its pneumatic and hydraulic hoists, cranes and systems. It’s 275 years' experience speaks for itself as it distributes its products across 70 countries. The hoists and patented key features that they have are very popular and the company is looking to expand in the UK and Ireland,” said Sutherland.

Headquartered in Witten, Germany, J.D. Neuhaus is still a family-owned company, led by seventh generation family member Wilfried Neuhaus-Galladé as managing director and employs over 155 employees with 70 across its subsidiaries in Baltimore (USA), Aberdeen (UK), Lyon (France) and Singapore.

Sutherland will continue to work with the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and was reappointed back onto the technical committee.

He said its biggest challenge continues to be the ongoing legislation changes as a result of Brexit and the team is working on its guidance material to support the industry as a whole parallel to Government advice.

LEEA’s event, LiftEx Bahrain, due to be held March 21-22, 2022, has been cancelled but the industry can look forward to the return of the LiftEx Exhibition in the UK, at P&J Live, Aberdeen, on October 5-6, which includes the 4th annual LEEA Awards on October 5.
