Lifting in unity

21 November 2006

Kuli Hebezeuge Helmut Kempkes GmbH supplied 12 identical cranes, which can be operated simultaneously or individually to perform vital lifting duties during the welding process of 180m long train tracks

The cranes will be used during the welding process of 180m long train tracks. The cranes are equipped with rail tongues and are installed at a distance of 15m. The welded rails are bundled and loaded on to railway waggons at their full length. The cranes work in two shifts, six days per week.

Only one crane operator can control all the cranes either by radio remote control or from a fixed control stand. The cranes can be controlled individually, or simultaneously in 12-crane lifts.

The operator is assisted by optical surveillance monitoring in the radio control remitter and in the control stand.

The order was placed in December 2005 and delivery took place in August 2006. Overnight transportation was convoyed by police escort.
