Donati supplies new hoist to Harrington

24 November 2000

Italian manufacturer Donati has produced a new range of electric wire rope hoists and trolleys to be marketed by Harrington in the USA.

The new RH series, available from January 2001, has been built to HarringtonÆs specifications for heavy-duty applications including fabricating, die handling, paper mill and production line work.

Although Donati is a subsidiary of Dematic of Germany, these hoists will be distributed exclusively by Harrington (itself owned by Kito of Japan) to US crane builders and distributors in kit form.

The RH is deck-mounted and available in capacities ranging from 2 US ton to 20 US ton, with single and two speed lifts offered as standard.

Other standard features include electromechanical overload protection, a fan-cooled motor, adjustable trolley brake and rubber trolley bumpers, all of which are optional on most other wire rope hoists in the USA, Harrington says.

There is also a dual side trolley drive that drives two wheels on opposite sides of the trolley, rather than having wheels on the same side. This is designed to make starts smoother and and reduce the amount of trolley ærackingÆ. The in-line design, with motor, gearbox and drum all in the same axis, results in a low-profile an low-headroom hoist, says Harrington.
