Boost for Konecranes as Prim and Marte come together

Italian industrial crane and service company Prim has taken over the business and certain assets of domestic rival Marte.

Marte has nationwide coverage in Italy and has delivered more than 10,000 cranes since being established in 1960. It had sales of E9m in 1999.

As Prim is 25% owned by KCI Konecranes, Marte will now use Konecranes technology and components. According to Konecranes, this acquisition puts Prim/Konecranes among the three biggest standard EOT crane suppliers in Italy, which is the second largest crane market in Europe.

The standard cranes sold by Prim and Marte will adopt the new brand Marte Konecranes.
