Tim Ekert has been appointed as CEO of Verton.

Although Ekert has been acting in the role for some time as part of a structured succession plan, his appointment has only just been formalised.

Ekert will replace the current CEO, Trevor Bourne, who will remain a director and board member of Verton Technologies.

“Over the past year, Tim’s contribution to the business has seen growth in our internal capability and global customer base. His knowledge and experience will drive the company’s growth and international expansion strategies,” said Bourne.

Ekert has a double degree in Engineering (Manufacturing Systems) and Business (Marketing) from the Queensland University of Technology, and has held previous leadership and executive management roles at SmartCap Technologies, Austin Engineering and Principle Industries.

‘I would like to thank Trevor and the board for providing me with this opportunity. I am very honoured and excited to be appointed as CEO of Verton. I would also like to acknowledge the work done by Trevor and the management team, which has resulted in a strong business with market-leading products poised to take the next step," said Ekert.

“Verton’s unique and innovative load orientation products presents many opportunities in the lifting industry. In this respect, the company has positioned itself firmly to deliver lifting solutions for clients and stakeholders worldwide.

“The Company has a strong and established presence in Australia with continued growth in international markets, particularly the US and UK. Verton is well placed to disrupt the status quo. I am truly excited by the challenges and opportunities this presents.

“I look forward to working with the board and the senior management team. It is an exciting time for Verton and to establish it as a globally dominant company with a range of elegant and innovative products.”
