Elsewhere in this issue, manufacturing sectors across North America and Canada are experiencing mixed fortunes. Keren Fallwell speaks to one crane builder each side of the border.
We also speak to GH, which produces a wide range of lifting equipment from its facilities in Spain, which are shipped and used across the world. Daniel Searle, from our sister publication Cranes Today, visited the company and found that from its network of three facilities in the Basque Country in the north of Spain — and its fourth facility in Andalusia in the south of the country — GH produces lifting kit for a wide range of sectors.
Finally, at the end of last month Terex Material Handling launched a new hoist unit, its DMR modular rope hoist, and we were kindly invited to the launch at its facility in Wetter, Germany.
With one basic technology, the hoist covers more applications than rope hoists currently available on the market, and offers a broad range of components that can be configured to create a rope hoist to meet the customer’s specific application needs.
"The Demag DMR modular rope hoist also makes it easier to select the required hoist unit", explained Dr. Thomas Bönker, senior director of the components business line at Terex Material Handling.
