Konecranes has recently announced that it will supply 14 cranes to the Japanese machine tool builder Makino for its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hung Yen province, near Hanoi, Vietnam.
This move is part of Makino’s ongoing expansion to elevate its production capabilities, particularly in high-precision metal-cutting and Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) technologies.
Secured in August 2024, the order includes an impressive mix of single and double girder cranes, wall console cranes, a wall-mounted slewing jib crane and a KBK workstation suspension crane – each tailored to meet the demands of modern industrial operations.
With load capacities ranging from 500kg to 15t and spans stretching up to 17.5m, these cranes are meticulously engineered to handle the complex workflow of Makino’s cutting-edge facility.
Designed for seamless, safe movement of materials, the cranes will operate across a variety of zones within the facility – including production lines, shipping areas, showrooms, staging points, precision measurement spaces and storage rooms. Installation is already under way, with full completion expected by the end of this month.
