The dam is located approximately 31.4 miles downstream of the point in Pittsburgh. The site may be accessed via public roads and the inland waterway system.
Work involves the fabrication and installation of a new lifting frame (beam) for the maintenance bulkheads used for servicing the dam. The new frame is an open lattice type structure composed of light to medium (WT, channel and angle) steel shapes.
The dimensions of the beam are approximately 104 feet long by 10 feet wide by 3 feet 6 inches high.
