KCI Konecranes of Finland’s continuing programme of taking over crane maintenance companies has taken it to Poland where it has acquired Cranex Sp.zo.o.
Cranex is based in Gdansk, the original home of the Polish Solidarity movement, and has 20 employees, mainly engineers and maintenance technicians.
The company was established in 1988 and is active mainly in the Gdansk and Gdynia areas of Poland.
KCI Konecranes explained its interest in Poland in the statement announcing its latest acquisition: “As one of the most rapidly developing markets in Eastern Europe, Poland is undergoing heavy investments into infrastructure and upgrading of old production machinery which is of interest to KCI Konecranes.”
