A new range of quick change metric fasteners allows nuts to be installed on screw threads using a sliding action rather than having to spin them on.

The new ZipNut has a ratchet mechanism with three floating female thread segments. When the nut has been pushed on final torque can be applied with conventional tools.

Time can be saved where access is restricted or where a nut has to be run down a long section of thread. In addition to quick installation the nuts can be pushed past damaged threads and tightened up on undamaged sections.

Versions of the ZipNut available from Jergens include hex nut, flange nut and threaded insert, for imperial sizes, and metric flange nuts in M12-1.75 and M16-2.0 are available as standard, and others are by request.
