Load sway control technology developed in Europe is being promoted in North America by Electromotive Systems by Magnetek.
Electromotive Systems is marketing its Swing Control System (SCS) under a North American licence agreement with Innocrane and remote controls supplier Hetronic, whose system is elsewhere marketed as ICRAS.
The US licensee says that SCS can be fitted to new equipment or retrofitted and, when used with variable frequency drive, will prevent load swing which is commonly caused by bridge or trolley motion.
SCS can be used with a variety of operator interfaces such as pendant, radio and joystick control and is ideal for applications such as high density material storage, critical positioning and automated systems, says the company.
