WH Scott, headquartered in both Belfast and Dublin, recently hosted a training masterclass for Irish engineers on Eurochain VR, the latest in flexible hoist technology from Verlinde France, the company announced earlier this week.

Engineers from WH Scott Belfast travelled to join their colleagues in Dublin for a day's training on Verlinde's Eurochain VR. All left extolling the benefits of the new hoist for the emerging industrial markets in Northern and Southern Ireland.

Eurochain VR is a new range of flexible electric chain hoist solutions from Verlinde, capable of lifting loads from 60 to 5000kg, the company stated. This new hoist represents is over 25 per cent faster than previous models.

"Despite continued concerns over the economy, Ireland continues to prove a strong market for Verlinde, both north and south of the border," said Simon Rothechild, business development manager for Verlinde. "If anything, the changing economic climate has gone hand in hand with increased interest in flexible hoists like Eurochain VR, so our Irish distributors will be able to use this product to cater for growing market demand."

Patrick Doyle, managing director, WH Scott, said: "The training day a great success and we hope the first of many. It was a pleasure to welcome both our European guests and colleagues from Belfast to the event and at the same time learn more about this new hoist first hand. It's another great product from Verlinde and we're looking forward to putting Eurochain VR through its paces with our customers."
