RStahl Fördertechnik has launched a new 80t winch in a bid to expand into the global market for power station equipment. Stahl reckons that there will be a huge demand for power generating capacity in South America and Southeast Asia in the coming years, as well as in China and the USA.

Stahl developed its new SHW 80 winch was developed in less than 12 months by using components from existing products including its wire rope hoists. Using a modular approach allows "unlimited" combinations of the sub-assemblies for individual solutions, Stahl says, as well as safe and fast assembly on site. All mechanical components of the SHW 80 winch are bolted, and the electrics are connected up with plug connections.

SHW 80 winches are suitable for loads up to 80t and lift heights up to 28m.

The rope drive has been designed to use 15% less headroom than conventional designs, facilitating integration into existing buildings.

Various accessories are offered, including an additional holding brake, maintenance platforms, space heaters, ramshorn hooks and load evaluation devices.
