The parent company, which was founded in 1946 and employs more than 1,800 staff, in its global operations specialises in overhead cranes and high integrity handling systems for use within the nuclear, aeronautics, aluminium and other specialist industries.

Reel's new offices are located in Warrington, an area that now has more than 20% of its office space occupied by businesses working in the nuclear sector.

Its Birchwood Park site is its third UK facility and will assist in Reel SAS's expansion plans within the U.K.

Jonathan Walsh, managing director of Birchwood Park explained: Over time, Birchwood Park has developed into a real draw for businesses operating within the nuclear sector - an outcome that has been equal parts strategic and organic.

"We work hard to make sure the companies that choose to make the park their home always expect more from their space, and we're looking forward to providing Reel UK with the necessary tools to further its own business plan over the coming years."
According to Howard Dixon, managing director of Reel UK, The next phase of its UK development will be to establish service and support locations close to the major areas of business and to participate fully in those local communities.

"This is a theme which we have repeated in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, China and we look forward to our next steps in the UK," he added.

The company said that it will continue to compete for high integrity material handling business from the nuclear and critical infrastructure sectors.
It said it will also, proactively push out for more business in the aerospace and automotive sectors where it considers to have company-wide expertise, while aiming to gain additional ground within the vast industrial applications sited across the North West region.
