Crane & Lift Services Limited of Nottingham, UK has designed and manufactured a special rotating lifting beam for Aida Bliss (Europe) Ltd of Derby. The lifting beam was built to handle a 120t fabricated press body and other components during the offloading, machining and assembly processes involved in building a new 2,500t press for the automotive industry.  Machining alone will take several months to complete.

Crane & Lift Services was also contracted to carry out the offloading from the special heavy transport trailer and the precise positioning and placement of the press body fabrication on to a specially built boring and finishing machine.  Carrying out the lift were two 55t-rated EOT cranes operating in tandem with the lifting beam suspended between the two. The beam, which weighs 6t, has a hook that rotates on bearings designed to take the load. Special soft slings were used to protect the load’s surfaces during the lifts both before and after the maching process.

Crane & Lift Services designs and manufactures cranes, lifts and lifting equipment that includes electrical control systems and automated handling schemes.
