UK-based Yaplex has installed two floor-mounted jib cranes, each with a 1,000kg safe working load (SWL), at an undisclosed client’s production facility.

Both cranes are equipped with Demag electric chain hoists, designed to support operators in handling components at their workstations.

The new equipment enables each workstation to operate independently, providing safe and controlled lifting where required.

According to Yaplex, the cranes offer a wide working radius at each station, while maintaining access throughout the production area.

The project was managed by Yaplex, from installation through to testing and commissioning.

Following the work, each crane underwent a thorough examination in accordance with LOLER regulations and received certification and a load test.

The company confirmed that the installation was completed to meet the customer’s specific need for dedicated lifting capabilities within the production area.

The company said: “The result is a simple but effective lifting solution that gives the customer reliable lifting capacity exactly where it’s needed, while keeping the surrounding production area accessible.”

Yaplex, established in 2010, designs and manufactures standard and customised handling and lifting equipment.

Its headquarters and manufacturing site are located in Clay Cross, Chesterfield, in a facility covering 24,000ft2.

The company reports compliance with ISO 9001 quality management standards and says its products are made to the requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42.

Each system is supplied with a CE declaration of conformity and a comprehensive manual.

In addition to meeting the Machinery Directive, Yaplex states its products comply with LOLER and PUWER regulations. Every installation receives a thorough examination report and is subjected to load testing.

Last month, Yaplex installed a customised 8t mobile gantry crane system for a client. The new equipment provides heavy-duty lifting capacity and can be moved to different locations as needed.
