Yaplex, a material handling and lifting equipment manufacturer based in Chesterfield, UK, has completed the installation of a bespoke 8t mobile gantry crane system for an undisclosed client.
The system delivers heavy-duty lifting capability with the added benefit of being repositionable.
The 8t crane features a powered runway beam for controlled travel, an electric chain hoist, and a heavy-duty mobile frame.
The design incorporates reinforced structural steelwork and industrial castors, allowing for improved manoeuvrability within the customer’s facility.
Each aspect of the crane was tailored specifically for the client’s application and working environment, eliminating the necessity for a permanently fixed overhead crane installation.
According to Yaplex, the solution was developed to address the need for both significant lifting capacity and mobility within industrial settings.
The company reported that the crane was manufactured at its 24,000ft² site in Clay Cross, where all production complies with ISO 9001 – Quality Management System standards.
Yaplex stated that its equipment is designed and produced in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42, with each system supplied complete with a CE declaration of conformity and comprehensive manual.
The firm also said its products comply with LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations) requirements. Every installation includes a report of thorough examination and load testing.

Earlier this month, Yaplex installed a lifting system that includes a jib crane with a 500kg safe working load and an electric chain hoist, together with a battery-powered vacuum lifter.
