Hoist UK has installed two single-girder overhead cranes, each with a 1.25t lifting capacity, for an undisclosed customer.
The installation included freestanding gantry steelwork, designed to allow both cranes to operate within a shared bay.
Both cranes are outfitted with Verlinde Eurochain VX electric chain hoists.
To improve safety and meet compliance requirements, the specification included a tandem radio control system and an anti-collision laser system.
The cranes use a top-running design with a chamfered bridge-beam end, allowing them to fit the building’s portal frame while maximising available lifting height.
Each crane spans 12.54m, with a total runway length of 36m and a 4.2m lift height.
Motion control is managed by a variable-speed inverter for both cross travel and long travel operations.
The hoisting mechanism supports dual speeds of 4m/min and 1m/min.

Earlier this month, Hoist UK manufactured, supplied, and installed two steel mobile gantries for a client. Each gantry is rated for a 250kg load and spans 3m between wheel centres.
