A French industrial facility has deployed an overhead crane system from Bertolotti Industries as part of a wider automation upgrade to its material handling operations.
The Bertolotti overhead crane is being used to lift and transfer materials throughout the production area, while electric automated guided vehicles (AGVs) from the company manage ground-level transport of heavy loads.
According to Sergio Parigi, sales director for automated warehousing and intralogistics at Bertolotti Industries, both the crane and AGVs work together in the same environment, coordinating material flow across the site. The company indicated that this integration aims to reduce manual handling, increase safety, and maximise the efficient use of available plant space.
Sergio Parigi, in a LinkedIn post, said: “AGVs and overhead cranes working in the same environment mean better coordination, reduced manual handling, improved safety, and a more efficient use of plant space.”
Headquartered in Figline e Incisa Valdarno, Firenze, Bertolotti Industries has been supplying turnkey automation systems since 1972.
The company’s offerings include overhead cranes, automatic warehouses, AGV systems, ground handling equipment, high-quality packaging lines, and bulk handling systems, with particular experience in steel coil handling.
Bertolotti Industries reports that its automation solutions are supporting the modernisation of industrial logistics in France.
