Metreel has completed the installation of a ceiling-mounted Met-Track workstation bridge crane for an undisclosed client seeking to maximise floor space at its facility.
The installed crane, which has a lifting capacity of 750kg, uses a festoon-powered bridge and runway system supported by the building structure.
The project involved positioning the crane above existing machinery and attaching it directly to the building’s framework.
According to Metreel, this approach was selected to prevent operational disruption and minimise downtime during the installation process.
The company said: “Our installation team lifted the crane above existing machinery and installed it directly into the building structure to avoid disruption and downtime.”
The Met-Track workstation bridge crane is designed for overhead handling across a range of workplace applications.
The company states that each system is configured with the operator’s needs in mind.
Materials and construction are selected to support operational reliability, safety and longevity, while minimising maintenance needs, the company said.
Metreel, established in 1969 and headquartered in the UK, supplies industrial solutions including mechanical handling systems, powerfeed technology, and height safety equipment.
The company provides both equipment and installation services to clients requiring tailored solutions for their operational needs.
Metreel stated that it incorporates customer requirements into its engineering processes, while emphasising regular employee training and continuous product development.
The company also collects feedback to support alignment of its systems with clients’ business objectives.
In February 2026, Metreel installed two Met-Track workstation bridge cranes at a client facility, each with a 2,000kg lifting capacity. The cranes were suspended from a mezzanine floor and featured dual bridges, with both systems operated manually.
