UK-based crane manufacturer Elite Cranes UK has completed a 22m free-standing gantry extension for a client in Warrington.
The installation followed a factory refurbishment that necessitated additional two-ton overhead crane coverage to enhance production capabilities.
The gantry extension was identified as the optimal solution to meet the client’s requirements.
Elite Cranes UK, in a LinkedIn post, said: “Great job by the team and a big thank you to Vistry Group for putting your faith in us to deliver this project whilst production continued. Great job and another example of the excellent work within our team.”
In addition to the Warrington project, Elite Cranes UK recently executed a gantry modification for a customer in Leamington Spa.
The project involved the removal of an existing two-ton single girder electric overhead travelling crane (EOTC) and a 9m section of the gantry.
The company reinstalled an existing stanchion 6m forward and incorporated a new 6m gantry piece. End stops were installed, and the crane was reinstalled, followed by a proof load test to ensure operational safety.
This modification was necessary to accommodate a new laser cutter conveyor, with the two-ton crane playing an essential role in product loading and unloading.
In March this year, Elite Cranes UK completed the installation of a two-tonne single girder crane for a client in Coventry. This project was a collaboration with GH Cranes & Components.
The crane, spanning 8.8m, is equipped with a two-ton electric wire rope hoist featuring variable speed drives for all operations.
This setup is designed to assist in assembling dumper truck components, including bodies and axles.
