CeMAT is set to expand its reach into the packaging technology sectors with the incorporation of the “Empack” and “Label&Print” shows at CeMAT 2016.

This is the result of the signing of wide-ranging strategic partnership between Deutsche Messe and Easyfairs Deutschland.

The organisers anticipate the new format to attract around 200 exhibitors that specialise in packaging systems and technology, with 10,000sqm allocated to their displays.

Wolfgang Pech, senior vice president at Deutsche Messe AG says: "This new collaboration has made it possible to expand our coverage of packaging systems at CeMAT, which remains the world's leading trade fair for intralogistics. As a result we will reach additional exhibitor and visitor groups

"By incorporating these two packaging industry shows into CeMAT we can offer visitors a clear added value. This cooperation is good news for everyone - a classic win-win situation."

Easyfairs manages 27 trade fairs in ten countries across Europe attracting around 35,000 visitors and 2,500 exhibitors.

Empack, one of its longest running brands, specialises in packaging technology with a large proportion of its exhibitors suppliers of packaging lines and machinery while Label&Print is a new brand launched in 2014, focusing on printing and finishing technologies.

Martina Hofmann, event director for the German-speaking European countries at Easyfairs Deutschland, added: "The collaboration with Deutsche Messe opens up new opportunities for our customers to showcase their products and expertise at a successful and well- established international trade fair for the intralogistics industry.

"As transport packaging, storage and security, as well as general intralogistical processes, are absolutely central to the packaging industry and what it does, the new venture enables both parties to benefit from synergies on many levels."
