Belarusian Railways to commission covered storage in 2013

Belarusian Railways will continue renovating storage infrastructure at the Kolyadichi goods station in Belarus this year, local news reported earlier this week. A new covered storage with a total area of 5,000sqm is to be put into use in 2013, which is meant for discharging and processing of packaged goods transported in closed carriages

The upgrade project is structured into five phases. After the renovation is complete the Kolyadichi goods station is expected to become one of BelarusĀ¹ leading deports offering a range of services including processing of high-capacity containers, heavy cargo and rolling stock, the local news reports stated.

Three gantry cranes with the lifting capacity of 12.5t have been mounted at the heavy cargo processing area. Another gantry crane with the lifting capacity of 30t is expected to be mounted soon.
