Valmet installs two Konecranes OTC and a runway in warehouse upgrade

Valmet, a developer and supplier of process technologies and automation for the pulp, paper and energy industries has installed an Agilon system, two overhead cranes and a runway, all from Konecranes, as part of a warehouse upgrade.

Agilon is Konecranes' solution for automated material handling which gives customers broad insight into, and quick access to, their materials.

The order with Valmet in Karlstad, Sweden will give tissue machine production workers easy and safe access to materials around the clock in an energy-efficient and fully traceable way.

Joakim Dahlbacka, CTO sales engineer, Konecranes said it will supply two overhead cranes with a nominal load of 16ton each, the cranes will working in tandem whit a Master Master System and have protected areas against the Agilon system, it can enter the restricted area against approval from a safety card.

Konecranes will also supply a complete new runway with new column beams  and a top beam.

The order includes a 30-meter-long, 5.1-meter-high Agilon system with two user access points, and the system will be integrated into Valmet’s Enterprise Resource Planning system.

Delivery will take place in December 2021 and includes a full-service agreement with the possibility of Agilon Global Technical Support (GTS) that provides predictive maintenance and 24/7 remote customer service. Valmet also ordered two overhead cranes and a runway as part of its warehouse layout renewal.
