Sparrow Crane has commenced the installation of the first of four overhead gantry cranes at Portbury Docks in England.
The company used its Demag AC100/4L all-terrain crane to work in the tight space condition at the dockside warehouse to lift and place the first crane.
The company has outlined that this activity forms part of an ongoing project to upgrade the warehouse’s heavy-lifting infrastructure.
The operation required precise coordination to move and install the equipment within the available space under the warehouse roof.
Sparrow Crane said: “Working within the confines of the dockside warehouse, our team executed a carefully planned operation to manoeuvre the substantial crane bridge safely into place.
“The Demag AC100/4L’s reach and lifting capability made it the ideal choice for this complex installation, demonstrating both its versatility and reliability in demanding industrial environments.
“This is the first of four overhead cranes scheduled for installation, and we’re proud to support the continued development of Portbury’s operational capacity with our specialist lifting expertise.”
The Demag AC 100-4L all-terrain 4-axle crane has an overall width of 2.55m. This model maintains its compact dimensions within the 100t capacity category.
According to the company, the Demag AC100/4L all-terrain crane can operate indoors and in urban locations where other cranes may not be suitable.
It can reach various lifting heights without requiring extra transport vehicles.
Founded in 1949, Sparrow Crane supplies a range of cranes, ancillary equipment and personnel to address various lifting requirements.
