England-based company Smart CI Group’s engineering and fabrication divisions have completed the installation of a jib crane at EOS Rooflights.

The work involved preparing the foundation by constructing and reinforcing a concrete stabilising cube, followed by 1000mm of C25/30 concrete pour.

The surface was levelled to match the existing floor, after which engineers installed 800mm ground studs and fixed the central column in place using M20 fixings.

The jib beam was positioned according to original equipment manufacturer specifications.

Smart CI Group said: “We wrapped up by relocating a jib crane from the adjoining unit and ensuring a clean, safe site on completion.”

The project was overseen by engineering project manager Rich Byrne.

Appreciating the whole installation process, EOS Rooflights production manager Russell Knight in a LinkedIn post said: “A big thankyou from EOS Rooflights to the recently departed Rich Byrne and the rest of the Smart CI Group. A fantastic install and expertly advised throughout despite some bumps in the road.”

Smart CI Group provides mechanical, electrical, and fabrication services for commercial and industrial clients across the UK.

EOS Rooflights, a family-run business supplying rooflights, roof lanterns, and insulated upstands to trade and individual customers, commissioned Smart CI Group for the installation.
