Nordic Drives Group’s subsidiary Midtjydsk Kran & Elektro has completed the delivery and installation of crane systems for Flexi Group’s new headquarters and manufacturing facility in Central and Western Jutland, Denmark.

The collaboration covered the design, implementation, and commissioning of overhead cranes intended to support material handling across the site’s various production zones.

Flexi Group consolidated its administration, manufacturing, and warehousing functions into a single facility, aiming to improve productivity and safety on the factory floor.

The new building required crane solutions matched to the specific operational needs of each area, including welding, assembly, and sheet metal processing.

Work on the project began with planning discussions in September 2025.

Midtjydsk Kran & Elektro was tasked with providing full crane coverage, including engineering solutions that addressed both lifting capacity and the integration of the cranes into existing workflows.

The company worked alongside Flexi Group to determine the technical requirements for different production spaces.

In the manual welding area, two 1,000kg cranes and a jib crane were installed to handle varying material flows.

The section focused on forming and sheet metal tasks received several 1,000kg overhead travelling cranes equipped with a vacuum lifter.

This configuration allows operators to move steel sheets weighing up to 1,000kg safely and ergonomically.

The total installation comprised five overhead travelling cranes, one jib crane, and associated lifting equipment, all tailored to meet the logistical demands of the facility.

Installation efforts included mechanical positioning, alignment, and safety testing such as emergency stop checks and load capacity verification.

The handover of the crane systems was completed in April 2026, ahead of the planned May deadline.

Midtjydsk Kran & Elektro stated that the company addressed operational needs and engineered solutions suited to Flexi Group’s requirements in order to support long-term productivity and safe, efficient daily operations at the new facility.

The project marks the integration of customised internal logistics to accommodate the growing production needs at Flexi Group’s consolidated site. In June 2026, Nordic Drives Group installed an overhead crane for a client in Sjælland, Denmark. The crane was designed with a 5t lifting capacity and a span of 17.4m.
