ABUS Crane Systems, the UK arm of German crane manufacturer the ABUS Group, has installed a 5t overhead gantry crane for Morgan Marine Ltd at its site in Carmarthenshire, Wales.
The overhead crane is designed to strengthen safety standards, streamline the handling of materials and raise operational efficiency at the Morgan Marine facility. According to ABUS Crane Systems, the system was configured as a bespoke lifting solution matched to the customer’s specific operational requirements.
ABUS Crane Systems, in a LinkedIn post, said: “The new crane will help improve workplace safety, material handling and operational efficiency, providing a reliable lifting solution tailored to their needs. Another great project, demonstrating how the right lifting solution can support your goals and keep your operations running smoothly.”
The Morgan Marine project follows other recent UK installations carried out by the company. Last month, ABUS Crane Systems fitted two Pillar VS Jib Cranes for Jonesco (Preston) at its Lancashire premises.
The jib cranes were introduced to help Jonesco’s mould engineering team handle tooling safely and efficiently, with their primary functions being loading and unloading tools onto a large 3.5m rotational moulding machine and supporting machine operators in removing finished products from the tools.
Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Yateley, Hampshire, ABUS Crane Systems operates as the UK subsidiary of the ABUS Group. The parent company manufactures its crane systems at three sites in Gummersbach, Germany, a location it has occupied since 1965, where more than 1,300 employees are based.
ABUS covers the UK market through regional area managers and maintains a nationwide after-sales service network backed by local spare parts stockholdings.
The company’s products carry CE marking, are produced under ISO 9001 quality assurance standards and come with a four-year warranty.
